- Follow the "regimen" card instructions for dosage guidelines
- Injection is given once a week on the same day of the week. If you go out of town or become severely ill, please call the spa to speak with your provider to adjust your injection schedule.
General Tips:
- With GLP-1s, the losing weight is the easy part. The hardest part is doing it in a healthy way.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Eat a lot of protein.
- Exercise; both cardio and weight lifting if possible.
- Use this program as a way to change your habits with food, diet, and exercise.
1. Avoid extended UV exposure for 3 days post treatment and wear sunscreen SPF 30 or higher when out in the sun.
2. Wear loose fitting clothing and avoid friction in the area for the next 24-48 hrs .
3. Avoid saunas, hot tubs, and hot showers for 24 hrs after.
4. Avoid chemical procedures/other laser treatments for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
5. Apply aloe vera or icepacks as needed to alleviate any discomfort.
6. If blisters occur, do not puncture. If skin is broken, apply antibiotic ointment until healed.
7. Call us with any questions or concerns.
8. Exfoliate treated areas to minimize risk of ingrown hairs after 3-5 days post-treatment.
9. To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment scheduled at the intervals recommended by your esthetician.
REMEMBER:
- Schedule appointments 4-6 weeks apart
- No waxing in between laser hair sessions
- Shave within 24 hours before your next appointment
- You can expect redness, swelling, peeling, and flaking — similar to a moderate sunburn — to last up to four days after your SkinPen® Microneedling procedure.
- Only use the moisturizing gel we provide to you over the next 24 hours. Do not use any other skincare products or makeup (cleansers, moisturizers, or sunblocks).
- After 24 hours from procedure you can also use a gentle cleanser and a zinc oxide sunblock as well as continue using the moisturizing gel we provided.
- Avoid exercise for three (3) days following the procedure (including procedure day). Bruising is rare however, do not plan an important event within 2 weeks of treatment.
- Avoid unprotected sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment. Use zinc oxide and hat/shade to protect treated areas.
You can expect:
Day 0 (day of procedure) – Moderate redness, tight, sunburned sensation. Nothing on face except Hydrogel, apply as frequently as needed.
Day 1 – Mild to moderate redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn. No sunscreen or makeup.
Day 2 – Some persistent redness and swelling may be present. May apply sunscreen and makeup.
Day 3 – Most redness, bruising, and swelling almost gone.
Day 4 – Return to normal appearance without makeup.
- You can shower 24 hours after
- No hot tubs, bath tubs, pools, lakes, or dirty water for the next 7 days (men) or 3-4 days (women).
- No major exercises for the incision area. No heavy lifting using the legs for 7 days. This includes running, elliptical, squats, lunges, etc. You can do moderate upper body work and normal walking on a flat surface.
- Okay to walk and perform upper body exercises
- Insertion site may be uncomfortable for up to 2-3 weeks. It's okay to alternate tylenol/motrin for pain
- You may have a bruise, swelling, or redness at the insertion site for the next couple of days. If the redness becomes worse and feels warm to the touch and is overly painful, call the spa.
- You may have some pinkish/blood drainage on your bandage. This is okay.
- If you experience a lot of bleeding, apply firm pressure for 5 minutes
- Call the spa if you have any bleeding that is not relieved with pressure
- Call the spa if any pus is coming out of the insertion site
- Icepack to the area a couple of times a day (about 20 minutes each time)
Post pellet appointments:
- If this is your first time, we would like you to come back in 4 weeks for a follow-up visit where we will again draw your blood and run labs to see how your levels have changed.
- Men should plan to have new pellets inserted in 5-6 months.
- Women should plan to have new pellets inserted in 3-4 months.
- No laying down for at least 4 hours after procedure
- No hats or headbands for 24 hours after procedure
- Avoid exercise/activities that will increase your heart rate for 24 hours after procedure
- Avoid hot tubs, long/hot showers, saunas, massages, and tanning beds for 24 hours after procedure
- If you experience a headache post treatment, Tylenol could be considered
- Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours post treatment
- Avoid rubbing your face or putting excess pressure on the treated area for the first few days so the product doesn't move
- Exercise your facial muscles for the first 30 minutes following treatment. Keep frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting to help the product work into your muscles.
- Do not try to “rub in” the product around the treated area. It’s best to avoid putting any excessive pressure on the treated area for the first few days. Be gentle!
- Please avoid food or drink (other than water) for 2 hours after your treatment.
- Please avoid dark colored food and drink for 24 hours after your treatment.
- Do not wash hair for 24 hours
- Do not wear a hat for 24 hours
- We recommend not coloring your hair the day after treatment
- Schedule appointments 1 month apart, minimum requirement is 3 sessions
1) There is little to no down-time following your G-Shot procedure
2) You may return to work the same day following your procedure.
3) You may still feel numbness in the area for several hours following your procedure.
4) Please do not use aspirin or other NSAID pain relievers (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for one week after the procedure. You may use acetaminophen (Tylenol) as directed on the label and /or apply an ice pack to the area for any discomfort.
5) We recommend intercourse day of treatment to stimulate bloodflow.
6) We recommend not using tampons for 3 days after the treatment.
7) Most patients will notice an immediate improvement in sensation, but it may take several weeks to achieve maximum result. If you have a history of bladder/stress incontinence, this should improve within a few days of your procedure.
8) Consider the Alma Duo treatment. Most women have lost muscular
tone in their pelvic floor, the G-shot can be beneficial to reducing
bladder leakage, but its benefit is augmented by strengthening the
muscles that help control the bladder
9) Consider Bio-identical Hormones, which also assist with repair
of the tissues.
1) Showering and cleansing the treatment area are allowed. A gentle cleanser may be used on the treatment area.
2) We recommend intercourse or a penis pump as physical therapy. This encourages blood flow to the area.
3) Acetaminophen may be used for discomfort. Refrain from NSAIDs (see above) for 3 days.
4) Antihistamines, like Benadryl and Zyrtec, may be used for minor itching.
5) Arnica Gel may be used for bruising.
6) If extreme swelling or any unforeseen symptoms occur, please contact us.
1) You may experience some discomfort or swelling at the injection site. This is normal and should subside within a few days.
2) Apply cold compresses to the injection site if recommended, to reduce swelling.
3) For at least 3 days after, avoid anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen).
4) For 3-7 days after, avoid alcohol.
5) For 3 days after, avoid strenuous exercise and weight lifting.
6) Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
7) Contact us if you experience any unusual symptoms or complications. If an emergency, call 911.
1) No sun exposure for 7-10 days
2) No retinol lotions for 7-10 days
3) No saunas/hot tubs/chlorine/working out for 72 hours, to avoid infection
4) Avoid waxing/hair removal for 2 weeks
